The Business Journal is profiling the honorees for the Best Real Estate Projects of the Year Awards. Porsche Sacramento is the honoree in the New Retail category.
Nearly four years in the making, The Niello Co. opened its Porsche Sacramento dealership in May. The 3.8-acre site is at 2200 Auburn Blvd. in Arden-Arcade, a prominent area in Sacramento County visible from nearby Business 80. The company has a second Sacramento-area Porsche dealership in Rocklin.
A subsidiary of Niello, RRD Properties LP, bought the property for $3.125 million in late 2020.
“Our Rocklin location is considered a generation four Porsche dealership,” he said. “Auto manufacturers every 10 to 15 years change the corporate look and identity of their dealerships. Porsche Sacramento is essentially the newest iteration of Porsche’s corporate identity.”
The 40,000-square-foot dealership is contemporary and modern-looking, said Ryan, with lots of silver, aluminum, and black exterior design touches.
“From the outside, it looks very utilitarian, but the inside has lots of brown and tan colors to make it feel warm and inviting.”
The dealership sells new and used vehicles and provides service and repairs. There are also modules inside the building that showcase different models, including vintage Porsche vehicles, along with new electric models. There are also lounges and decorated racing lanes inside.
“It’s a very purpose-driven building,” said Ryan, adding the new dealership is part of Niello’s ongoing expansion plans.
“It’s a vast property that’s laid out properly, which allows us to utilize the entire 3.8 acres,” he said. “It’s designed for growth and efficiency.”
